When the the temps rise I try to keep dinners simple and avoid turning the oven on. I have had a lot of requests for the recipe for this salad. Luckily, there's not much to do but just a bit of chopping, cooking the bacon is the most time consuming part. I  cook the bacon on our Traeger Grill, just line a baking sheet with aluminum foil to make clean up easier. This meal is pretty hearty on it's own, but I do like to serve with a side of watermelon.


  • Iceberg Lettuce
  • Grape Tomatoes cut lengthwise
  • Red onion diced
  • Avocado
  • Crumbled Blue Cheese
  • Blue Cheese Dressing (store bought is fine) I really like the Litehouse brand.
  • Chopped chives
  • Cracked black pepper
