The Dutch House

Have you ever read a book and you can’t stop thinking about it? You dream about it and you don’t want it to end. The book consumes you and you think about the characters even when you’re not reading the book and long after you’ve finished.
Enter The Dutch House. A wonderful tale about family, money, redemption, the past, and learning to heal. The center of the story revolves around a magnificent house, simply named The Dutch House. The house draws people in and drives some to absolute obsession. I devoured the book in two sittings (Donnie read it in one day) and was entranced by the cover, no kindle edition for this book. I had to buy it in hardback and it sits on my nightstand so I can look at Maeve often. Hats off to the artist who was commissioned to paint the cover in FOUR days, I wish I could buy a print. Absolutely incredible.

I absolutely loved this book, and I’m so glad you recommended it to me! It was sad, yet not devastating, and the characters were all so complex and yet relatable. I loved it; definitely one of my favorites that I read this year. <3
